(Davao City, September 13, 2024). During its 3rd Quarter Regular Meeting on September 13, 2024, the Regional Development Council (RDC) XI approved the FY 2026 Annual Investment Program (AIP) for Davao Region.
The FY 2026 AIP is the annual slice of the Davao Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP), 2023-2028, which contains the priority projects and programs (PAPs) of Agency Regional Offices (AROs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) that shall support the attainment of the development objectives and targets in the Davao Regional Development Plan (RDP), 2023-2028. It shall likewise serve as input for the updating of the Public Investment Program (PIP) for the annual budget deliberation.
The total amount programmed for FY 2026 AIP for Davao Region is PHP 321.43 billion, 68 percent of which is allocated for regular or ongoing PAPs, while the new/expanded projects account for the remaining 32 percent, or PHP 103.50 billion. These projects will be implemented by 49 government agencies and offices in the Region.
Among the major sectors, the Infrastructure Development sector accounted for the largest share of programmed PAPs, worth PHP 200.09 billion or 62 percent. This is followed by the Social Development sector at PHP 103.42 billion or 32 percent, the Economic Development sector at PHP 13.32 billion, and the Development Administration sector at PHP 4.59 billion.
In terms of investment targets per agency, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) accounts for almost half of the total with PHP 153.55 billion or 48 percent, followed by the Department of Education (DepEd) with PHP 60.78 billion or 19 percent, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) with PHP 22.33 billion, and the National Housing Authority (NHA) with PHP 17.11 billion. The remaining 21 percent is distributed among the other 45 agencies.
Some of the major PAPs programmed under the FY 2026 AIP include: (1) Farm-to-Market Road Development Program; (2) Ensure Safe and Reliable National Road System Program; (3) Convergence and Special Support Program; (4) Construction of office buildings in the Regional Government Center; (5) Development and Establishment of the Davao Occidental Marina and Industrial Park; (6) various Housing programs; (7) Mati Airport Development Project; (8) Upgrading, Renovation, and Equipping of Health Facilities and DOH Hospitals; (9) Renovation and construction of school buildings; and, (10) Davao Public Transport Modernization Project, among other PAPs for Davao Region.
