Davao City – The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI endorsed the FY 2027 Budget Proposal of Davao Region Government Agencies, Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) amounting to PHP 281.13 billion during the First Quarter RDC XI Meeting on March 5, 2026 at the DEPDev-RDC XI Center, Davao City.
Approximately 33 percent, or PHP 94.22 billion, of the FY 2027 Budget Proposal is dedicated for new and expanded programs, activities, and projects in Davao Region. The RDC XI’s Sectoral Committees served as the Reviewing/Endorsing Panels for the FY 2027 Budget Proposals. The Social Sector endorsed the highest FY 2027 budget proposals amounting to PHP 138.07 billion (49.11 percent), followed by the Infrastructure sector at PHP 126.64 billion (45.05 percent), Economic Sector at PHP 10.6 billion (3.78 percent), and the Development Administration Sector at PHP 5.79 billion (2.06 percent). Among the agencies, DepEd XI had the highest Tier 2 budget proposal at PHP 32.023 billion, followed by DPWH XI at PHP 26.08 billion.
As part of the endorsement of FY 2027 Budget Proposals, DBM XI and DEPDev XI also presented Davao Region’s Budget Trend and the Status of RDC XI-endorsed Budget Proposals, respectively. DBM XI reported that Davao Region appropriations increased by 3.3 percent, from PHP 172.81 billion in FY 2025 to PHP 179.03 billion in FY 2026. However, the share of Davao Region allocation vis-à-vis other Mindanao Regions and to the total budget decreased by 0.46 and 0.09 percentage points for the same period, respectively.
The FY 2027 budget review exercise ensures the linkage across the government’s planning, investment programming, and budgeting processes, and guarantees the responsiveness of agency budget proposals to the goals of the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP), 2023-2028.
