Davao City – The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI endorsed the FY 2026 Budget Proposal of Davao Region Government Agencies, Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) amounting to PHP 335.34 billion during the Joint RDC-Advisory Committee XI Meeting on March 18, 2025 at the Sotogrande Hotel, Davao City.

Approximately 38 percent, or PHP 128.21 billion, of the FY 2026 Budget Proposal is dedicated for new and expanded programs, activities and projects in Davao Region. The RDC XI’s Sectoral Committees served as the Reviewing/Endorsing Panels for the FY 2026 Budget Proposals. The Infrastructure Sector endorsed the highest FY 2026 Budget Proposal amounting to PHP 177.08 billion (52.80 percent), followed by the Social Sector at PHP 140.54 billion (41.91 percent), Economic Sector at PHP 13.04 billion (3.89 percent), and the Development Administration Sector at PHP 4.6 billion (1.40 percent). Among the agencies, DPWH XI had the highest budget proposal at PHP 157.04 billion.

As part of the endorsement of FY 2026 Budget Proposals, DBM XI and NEDA XI also presented Davao Region’s Budget Trend and the Status of RDC XI-endorsed Budget Proposals, respectively. DBM XI reported that Davao Region appropriations increased by 8.17%, or PHP 72 billion, in FY 2025. However, the share of Davao Region allocation compared to other Mindanao Regions decreased by 0.35 percentage points for the same period. NEDA XI reported that the recorded FY 2025 batting average of RDC XI-endorsed budget proposals was 30.63 percent, which was 6.02 percentage points lower compared to the FY 2024 performance.

The FY 2026 budget review exercise ensures the linkage across the development planning, investment programming, and budgeting processes of the government, and guarantees the responsiveness of the budget proposals to the goals of the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP), 2023-2028.
