(Davao City, July 13, 2026) — The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI, led by Co-Chairperson Private Sector Representative Arturo M. Milan and Vice-Chairperson and Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) XI Regional Director Priscilla R. Sonido, met with the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro, headed by Governor Raul G. Mabanglo, Congress Representatives Maria Carmen S. Zamora, and Leonel D. Ceniza, to discuss the socioeconomic performance of Davao Region and the Province on June 24, 2026, at the Davao de Oro Provincial Capitol in Cabidianan, Nabunturan.
The dialogue gathered members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, representatives from national government agencies, provincial department heads, and other key stakeholders, municipal mayors, and the District Representatives Zamora and Ceniza, underscoring the commitment of both the executive and legislative sectors to advancing the province’s development agenda.
Highlighting the province’s potentials, Regional Director Priscilla R. Sonido challenged the province to capitalize on its comparative strengths and strategic advantages, particularly in the agriculture and mining sectors. She emphasized that maximizing these opportunities will enable the province to strengthen its role as a key contributor to Davao Region’s economic expansion and long-term development.
Dir. Sonido also enjoined the Province to align local plans, programs, and investments with the region’s critical development indicators, particularly on poverty incidence, agriculture, education, health and nutrition, and teenage pregnancy.
Governor Mabanglo welcomed the challenge and enjoined provincial offices, national government agencies, local government units, and other key stakeholders to work together in identifying and implementing strategic interventions that will boost Davao de Oro’s socioeconomic performance. He emphasized that accelerating the province’s growth will not only benefit its constituents but also strengthen its contribution to the overall development of Davao Region, consistent with the goals and strategies outlined in the Davao Regional Development Plan.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of RDC XI and the Provincial Government of Davao de Oro to foster stronger collaboration, harmonize development initiatives, and pursue evidence-based interventions that will accelerate inclusive, resilient, and sustainable growth across the region.
