The Metro Davao Development Coordinating Committee (MDDCC) convened for its 1st quarter CY 2022 meeting on March 09, 2022, via Zoom presided by Co-Chairperson, Dr. Lourdes C. Generaloso. The Committee was presented with the progress of the MDDA Bill which was approved on the third and final reading of the Senate last January 17, 2022. Dir. Lim of NEDA XI provided the updates on behalf of Congressman Isidro T. Ungab and informed the Committee that there will be a Ceremonial Signing of the Bill on March 16 or 18, 2022 set by the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) and verified from the House of Representatives Secretariat. Dir. Lim also added that an enrolled copy of the MDDA Bill was already printed awaiting the signature of House of Representatives Speaker Lord Allan Jay Q. Velasco. Once the bill is signed, this will be forwarded to the Office of the President through PLLO. Congressman Ungab and the other signatories of the Bill are optimistic that this ceremonial signing will push through this month.

The Revised Work and Financial Plan for the Formulation of the Metropolitan Davao Public Safety and Security Master Plan (MD-PSSMP) was presented by Public Safety and Security Command Center Head P/LtCol Angel B. Sumagaysay. The master plan will be implemented in 4 phases, from Planning and Preparation of the WFP of MD PSSMP (Phase 1), Data Gathering and Databank Design/Programming (Phase 2), Data Analysis, Situation, Assessment, Setting of Strategies/Objectives & PAPs (Phase 3), and Drafting, Finalization and Submission of the master plan (Phase 4), which will be conducted in five (5) months from March until September 2022, considering the election period restrictions in May and June of 2022. The budget for this Master Plan is Php 863,400.00, which was endorsed by the Committee for RDC XI approval during its upcoming 1st Quarter Full Council meeting.
