Island Garden City of Samal, December 15, 2023 – The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI, presided over by Acting RDC XI Chair Arturo M. Milan, approved the CY 2023 Davao Regional Development Report (DRDR) during its 4th Quarter 2023 meeting.

The DRDR captures the annual assessment of the performance of the Region in several dimensions: social, economic, peace and governance and infrastructure, among others. In particular, the Report presents the progress in achieving the targets for relevant chapters of the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP), 2023-2028 by presenting the Region’s accomplishments in the first three quarters of 2023, the first year of implementation of the said Plan. This document also presents the status of implementation of the programs, activities, and projects of the government agencies in CY 2023, in line with the identified strategies as well as their contribution to the 6 transformation agenda, namely: digitalization; enhanced connectivity; broader private sector participation; servicification; dynamic innovation ecosystem; and greater collaboration between local and national government.  

Among the major accomplishments were the completion of 831 projects with a total contract value of Php 37.9 Billion.  In comparison to the same period in 2022, this is a 71% increase in the number of projects completed and 247% more in public sector investments. 

With the reported accomplishments and performance of the Region for CY 2023, the efforts and contributions of each stakeholder provided a very strong foundation for the first year of implementation of the DRDP, 2023-2028. These results call upon each sector for a continued commitment towards the attainment of the goals reflected on the Plan and to achieve a matatag, maginhawa at panatag na buhay para sa lahat.
