(Davao City, 25 April 2023). The recently concluded launching of the Regional Education Development Plan 2023-2028 was commended by Regional Development Council (RDC)XI Vice Chairperson and NEDA XI Regional Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim as a significant undertaking of DepEd XI to address the issues and challenges facing Davao Region’s basic education system.

Director Lim, who graced the event on April 22, 2023 as keynote speaker, cited the salient features of the Regional Education Development Plan (REDP) 2023-2028 and stated that the REDP “is a step in the right direction”, stating how timely and significant the event was to further the commitment of intensifying the efforts in accelerating the development of Davao Region’s human resources for a highly trusted and resilient society and globally-competitive knowledge economy.

Aligned with the Davao Regional Development Plan, 2023-2028, the Regional Education REDP 2023-2028 aims to achieve Davao Region’s commitments to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, as well as, the Filipino aspirations towards AmBisyon Natin 2040.

She emphasized that the plan outlines the strategies to provide quality education, sustain and enhance relevant programs, and shepherd innovations in our education system to realize the DepEd’s battle cry of “MATATAG: Bansang Makabata, Batang Makabansa”.

“The Regional Development Council XI and NEDA Regional Office XI, commend and fully support the initiatives of the Department of Education XI in formulating the Regional Education Development Plan 2023-2028 (REDP 2028) to improve the quality of education in Davao Region,” Director Lim declared. –Jaime P.
