Davao City, December 13, 2022 – The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI has approved the Davao Regional Development Plan, 2023-2028, (DRDP) during its 4th Quarter CY 2022 Full Council Meeting on December 13, 2022 held onsite at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.

The DRDP, which was presented to the Council by National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) XI Regional Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim, shall serve as the blueprint of Davao Region’s development directions from 2023 to 2028. Its companion documents: the Regional Development Investment Program, Results Matrices and Davao Region Development Research Agenda were also approved by the RDC XI during the said meeting.

Anchored on the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), 2023-2028, and on the 8-point socioeconomic development agenda of the Marcos Administration, the DRDP is composed of 17 chapters that highlight recommendations on the overall direction of the spatial development of the region, as well as strategies to develop and protect individuals’ and families’ capabilities, and to transform production sectors to generate more quality jobs and produce products that are locally and globally competitive.

The DRDP was subjected to two rounds of Planning Committee Workshops conducted in September and October 2022, and a Multi-Stakeholders Consultation and Consistency-Checking Workshop in November 2022. After the approval of the RDC XI, the DRDP, 2023-2028 is programmed to be launched and released to stakeholders by the end of the 1st quarter of 2023.
