Chair and Cabinet Secretary for Regional Development and Security for Davao Region, DBM Secretary Wendel E. Avisado presided over the BP² Program Special Committee First Virtual Quarter Meeting on March 5, 2021.

The Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP²) Program Special Committee discussed the resumption of the BP² Program Beneficiaries’ dispatch during its 1st Quarter Meeting on March 5, 2021.  A total of ninety-six (96) BP² program beneficiaries were verified and endorsed by the BP² Council National Secretariat to the Province of Davao del Norte, as pilot province in Davao Region.  For its first batch, Davao del Norte is expected to accept twenty-five (25) BP² program beneficiaries who have place to stay in their preferred municipality.  These 25 individuals shall be arriving on March 18-19, 2021 at their designated drop-off point in Tagum City Hall.

The Provincial Government of Davao del Norte informed BP² Program Special Committee that it have been coordinating with the participating regional offices/provincial counterparts and other stakeholders on the arrival, and provision of assistance to the incoming beneficiaries.

To support the implementation of the BP² Program in the Region, the Committee also endorsed to the Regional Development Council (RDC) XI revalidated programs, activities and projects (PAPs) of the implementing agencies of the BP² Program.  The revalidated PAPs were necessary to provide the BP² Program Special Committee the basis on what PAPs are to be implemented in CY 2021 with funding under FY 2021 GAA and likewise be monitored. – Sr. EDS Ruth C.
